Shift: The Commission on Work, Workers, and Technology, was formed by New America and Bloomberg, with the goal of analyzing theories of the future of work. The commission outlines four possible future economies. As Roy Bahat, head of Bloomberg Beta, described, the commission “compared four scenarios along two dimensions — with more work and less, more “taskification” of jobs and less .” The four futures include: (i) more work, mostly tasks, (ii) less work, mostly tasks; (iii) more work, mostly jobs, and (iv) less work, mostly jobs.
