The Mississippi Supreme Court on May 29th issued rule amendments to the state’s lawyer advertising rules. See In re Mississippi Rules of Professional Conduct, Miss No. 89-R-99018-SCT, 5/29/03.The new rules go in effect September 1st further specify what communications are deemed false and misleading; apply advertising rules to the Internet; require advertisements to disclose the geographic location of advertising lawyers; and require many ads to be filed with the bar before being published.
