Should we be preparing ourselves for massive AI-induced technological unemployment? Andrew McAfee and Erik Brynjolfsson, authors of  The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress, and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies, discuss two large labor force challenges. First, the shift to a lower gear in the job creation engine (creating lower middle-class jobs with more stagnant incomes). Second, there is a serious joblessness problem in some groups.
